Megan Crilly, LMSW
Megan Crilly (she/her/hers) is Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) who provides therapy for children, adolescents, adults, and families.
Megan is light-hearted, kind, and eager to learn about how to best assist her clients. She specializes in individual and family therapy and uses both strength-based and systemic approaches to therapy, emphasizing the importance of looking both inside and outside of oneself to gain insight and address therapeutic needs.
Megan prioritizes client collaboration as she believes client and family engagement, as well as an understanding of the therapeutic process, is integral to promoting positive outcomes. Megan works with individual clients and/or their families to help identify needs and set goals for treatment.
Megan is practiced in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Family Therapy, Humanistic Therapy, and integrative and holistic approaches to therapy. She is passionate about meeting clients where they are, whether it be a client’s first session or months or years into their mental health journey.
Megan has experience working as a psychotherapist in home, school, and office settings. She has worked with a variety of issues, such as sadness and depression, anxiety, oppositional behaviors, family/peer conflict, identity dysphoria, learning differences (such as ADHD), inattention, hyperactivity, grief, and anger. Megan focuses on equipping her clients with skills to improve their ability to cope and to promote healthy relationships, self-esteem, communication, anger-management, and socialization.
Megan earned her Master of Clinical Social Work from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and her Bachelor of Arts in Communication from the University of Maryland, College Park. Megan is a contract therapist with Potomac Therapy Group under the clinical supervision of Ryan Malphrus, LCSW-C.
